Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 22, 2025
Welcome to Dvy ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Dvy collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application to scan, parse, and split receipts.
1. Information We Collect
- Camera and Images: Dvy requires access to your device’s camera or photo library to capture or select images of receipts.
- Receipt Data: We collect the receipt details extracted by the AI analysis, including store name, date/time, item names, and prices.
- Device Information: We may collect technical info (model, OS version) via Google Firebase to help us fix bugs and improve performance.
2. How We Process Your Data (AI Analysis)
Dvy uses Google Gemini AI (provided by Google LLC) to analyze receipt images directly using multimodal visual processing.
- When you scan a receipt, the processed receipt image is sent securely to Google's servers for AI analysis.
- The data sent consists of the image of the receipt, which is parsed to identify itemized list structures, taxes, tips, and totals.
- By using Dvy, you acknowledge that your receipt images will be handled by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Basic app preferences and single-user session data are stored on your device.
- Cloud Sessions: If you use the "Start Online Session" feature, receipt data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore to allow real-time synchronization with invited participants.
- Encryption: We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between the app, Google Gemini, and Firebase.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We only share data with:
- Service Providers: Google (for AI analysis and cloud hosting via Firebase).
- Collaborators: If you join a shared session, the items and prices on the receipt will be visible to the other participants in that specific session.
